PENFIELD - Mary Ellen Brandow, 80, of Penfield died at 1:07 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 4, 2005) at home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Penfield United Methodist Church, Penfield. The Rev. Chris King and Sally Swaim will officiate. Burial will be in Partlow Cemetery, Armstrong.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wolfe Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 400 N. Vermilion St., Potomac, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Mrs. Brandow was born April 6, 1925, in Fancy Prairie, a daughter of Forrest and Tena Boyer Zimmerman. She married Willard "Bill" Stevenson on Aug. 18, 1945, in Rantoul. He died March 25, 1973. She later married Robert Brandow on July 6, 1973, in Penfield. He died Dec. 24, 1989.

Survivors include a daughter, Rosemary Foster of Penfield; a stepdaughter, Lynn Knicely of Colorado; a stepson, Robert Brandow of Colorado; a foster son, Keith Denoyer of Champaign; two sisters, Margaret Anderson of Rantoul and Anna Denesha of Arizona; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Mrs. Brandow opened Klip and Kurl Beauty Salon in Penfield after completing cosmetology school. She retired in 1992 after 30 years. She was a member of Penfield Methodist Church where she played the organ and piano for more than 20 years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and music.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
