Carl E. Propst: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice

PEORIA - Carl E. Propst, 79, of Peoria passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2010, at 11:39 a.m. at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born on April 15, 1931, in Greenview, to Edward and Missouri Taylor Propst. He married Wilma Tripp.

He is survived by three sons, John (Sandra) Boyer of Greenville, TN, Bart (Andrea) Propst of Dunlap and Eric Propst of Mt. Sterling; a daughter, Judi (Tom) Carter of Houston, TX; a half sister, Millie Brown of Petersburg; and seven grandchildren.

His wife; two brothers, Cecil Propst and Chuck Jones; and his parents preceded him in death.

He worked as a factory worker at Corn Products in Pekin. He was a member of Greenview Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea in 1950.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 2, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Greenview. Pastor Greg Shambo will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery in Sweetwater.
