68, of Springfield died at 8:03 a.m.

Thursday at St. John's Hospital.

She was born May 2, 1924, in Springfield, the daughter of Kenneth and Alta Hughes Whitley. She married Carl E. Hashman in 1972 in Springfield. A son, Edward Anson Brown, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hashman was a member of First Christian Church and DAV Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband, Carl E.; two daughters, Mrs. Joe (Pamela Rey) Putnam of Springfield and Mrs. Joel (Elizabeth Ann) Jones of College Station, Texas; a son, James A. Brown II of Springfield; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Don (Norma Jean) Carnduff of Springfield; and several cousins.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ellinger-Kunz and Davis Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lester A. Ringham officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Petersburg.
