Frank was the son of William and Elinore (McIntyre) Kyle and was born in Adams county, Ohio. Around 1858, William and Elinore moved to Logan township, Peoria county, Illinois and started farming there. On December 6, 1884, Frank married Melinda Elizabeth Carter, daughter of Andrew M. and Sienda Oten Carter in Peoria county, Illinois. It should be noted that Andrew M. Carter was also originally from Adams county, Ohio.

1. Claude Frank Kyle (April 15, 1886 - )
2. Jay Thomas Kyle (February 19, 1888 - June 15, 1958)
3. Arthur M. Kyle (August 14, 1899 - May 18, 1901)
