Shirley A. Vaughn is the daughter of Jesse Louis Vaughn and Ada Overton Franklin. After working many years as a nurse, Shirley went to Temple University and got her Doctorate in Education. She retired as an Associate Professor Emreita from the University of Delaware. She married John Nelson Carter Jr. and together they had the following children listed below. Shirley is a devoted mother and grandmother spending as much time as she can with her family. Oh, did I mention she is an awesome cook?!!!
