Andrew Jackson Carter

(May 23, 1871 - April 21, 1948)

    Andrew Jackson was the oldest son of Andrew M. Carter and Martha Ruark born in Bryant, Fulton county, Illinois.  He married Hester Hannah Riley (November 09, 1872 - December 13, 1963) on February 07, 1892 in Fulton county, Illinois.  Andrew worked for the railroad, was chief of police for Canton and eventually ended up the Mayor of Aurora, Kane county, Illinois.  In each of those positions he did quite well resulting in more than favorable reviews by his supervisors and constituents.

    Andrew and Hester gave birth to three children...

1.    Leonard A. Carter (December 22, 1892 - February 28, 1955)

2.    Donald F. Carter (April 1897 - )

3.    Elizabeth Carter  (January 17, 1903 - May 31, 1997)
